3 cups milk
2 cups sugar
250g Stork Baking Margarine
1½ cups cornflour
2 cups milk, extra
¼ cup rose water
½ tsp nutmeg
1 can condensed milk
½ cup glace cherries, halved

Step by step method

  1. Combine first measure of milk and sugar and bring to boil whilst stirring until the mixture is syrupy and thickened.
  2. Add Stork Bake and allow to melt.
  3. Mix corn flour with milk (extra).
  4. Pour cornflour mixture into the milky syrup and stir over moderate heat until it forms a thick mass.
  5. Add rest of ingredients, lower heat, continue stirring until the fat begins to separate from the mass.
  6. Transfer into a deep tray (or mould) to set.
