The festival of light celebrates the victory of good over evil, light over the darkness. Accepting the light into our lives and getting ready for the next year.

We all know Diwali (the Hindu festival of light) is fast approaching and some delicious baked treats are being dished up. But before we get to the delicious stuff, we must acknowledge the beauty and meaning behind Diwali. The festival of light celebrates the victory of good over evil, light over the darkness. Most Indian festivals have a strong focus on fasting, unlike Diwali which is different from the others… it’s all about feasting. Next to the fireworks, the baked goodies are definitely the highlight of the day with everyone putting out their best treats.
